BVHS Welcomes Pranitha Chekka DO to Endocrinology and Diabetes Specialists of Northwest Ohio

Blanchard Valley Health System (BVHS) is pleased to welcome Pranitha Chekka, DO, to the team at Endocrinology & Diabetes Specialists of Northwest Ohio in Findlay.

 

Dr. Chekka is a board-certified internal medicine physician specializing in endocrinology. She recently completed an endocrinology fellowship at the University of Colorado Anschutz, where she gained experience diagnosing and treating a wide range of endocrine and metabolic conditions. Her professional interests include general endocrinology, obesity and weight management, and diabetes technology.

 

“We are excited to welcome Dr. Chekka to Team BVHS,” said Kelly Shroll, chief operating officer of ambulatory services at BVHS. “Her specialized expertise in endocrinology, diabetes management, and metabolic health will expand access to high-quality specialty care for our community and further strengthen the services available to our patients.”

 

Dr. Chekka earned a Bachelor of Health Sciences from the New York Institute of Technology before receiving her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine, where she earned Dean’s Honors for placing in the top 10% of her medical school class. She completed a transitional medicine residency at Unity Health in Searcy, Arkansas, followed by an internal medicine residency at the University of Florida College of Medicine in Jacksonville. She then pursued specialized training in endocrinology at the University of Colorado.

 

Throughout her medical training, Dr. Chekka has also been involved in research, quality improvement, and medical education. During her endocrinology fellowship, she worked on a quality improvement initiative designed to enhance the experience of internal medicine residents rotating through an endocrinology clinic by improving workflows, updating clinical templates, and developing educational resources on common endocrine conditions. Her research and scholarly work have included topics such as Graves’ disease, hypoglycemia, and other complex medical conditions.
