Shradha Samuel, MD, joins Ohio State and Blanchard Valley Health System as New Vascular Surgeon

We are excited to welcome Shradha Samuel, MD, to the Department of Surgery as the firstShradha Samuel, MD vascular surgeon hired through our new partnership with Blanchard Valley Health System (BVHS) in Findlay, effective Jan. 1. In November 2024, BVHS and The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center’s Heart & Vascular Network joined efforts in a unique collaboration that strengthens our shared commitment to delivering advanced cardiovascular care across Ohio. Dr. Samuel’s appointment furthers the patient-centered quality that exemplifies the Ohio State Wexner Medical Center and BVHS, and which is core to this partnership. 

Dr. Samuel joins Ohio State and BVHS from Bryan Heart and Vascular in Lincoln, Nebraska. A graduate of the University of Missouri Vascular Surgery Fellowship Program, Dr. Samuel practices a comprehensive spectrum of vascular care that includes open, endovascular, and non-invasive treatment of arterial and venous disease. Prior to her fellowship, Dr. Samuel completed her general surgery residency at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. She earned her medical degree from Creighton University School of Medicine after completing a post-baccalaureate pre-medical certificate at Creighton.

Dr. Samuel’s clinical interests include peripheral artery disease (PAD), claudication, limb salvage, carotid artery disease, aortic aneurysm management, dialysis access creation, and mesenteric/renovascular disease. She is dedicated to providing expert, personalized vascular care. Her scholarly work includes publications in the Journal of Vascular Surgery Cases, Innovations and Techniques and Injury, among others, reflecting interests in limb revascularization techniques and perioperative optimization.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Samuel and her husband are avid hikers who love exploring U.S. national parks. She’s also a devoted Star Trek fan.

By strategically combining our expertise and resources, Ohio State and BVHS are expanding access to specialized care, research, and education – ensuring patients across the region receive the best possible treatment close to home. Dr. Samuel’s expertise and leadership will be integral to advancing this mission.
