Donor Spotlight
Werk-Brau Company
Blanchard Valley Health System continues to stay at the forefront of healthcare by responding to the evolving needs of our community. Through ongoing investments in capital projects, BVHS is enhancing facilities, expanding access to care, and improving both health outcomes and patient experiences for those who live and work in our region. These advancements are made possible thanks to the generosity of donors like the Werk-Brau Company.
For over 75 years, Werk-Brau has been a pillar of the Findlay community, manufacturing and selling attachments for construction machinery, including excavators, backhoes, and loaders. Although the company now serves customers worldwide, it remains deeply committed to uplifting the community it calls home.
Recently, Werk-Brau made a significant contribution toward the purchase of a new linear accelerator for The Armes Family Cancer Care Center. This specialized technology delivers high-energy X-rays using advanced computer programming and imaging to precisely target cancer cells while minimizing damage to healthy tissue. The result is a more comfortable treatment experience with fewer side effects.
“We have known several people who have had to travel great distances to receive treatment and, in particular, acute radiation therapy,” a Werk-Brau representative said. “Once we learned about a giving opportunity for a second linear accelerator, we knew we wanted to help.”
For nearly eight decades, the team members of Werk-Brau have trusted BVHS with their medical care—from primary and specialty services to emergency visits. They understand the vital importance of dependable, accessible healthcare to rural communities. “Our team at Werk-Brau and their families rely heavily on the care provided by BVHS. We want to ensure they receive the best care possible and have access to it right here in their community.”
What touches Werk-Brau the most is how the care at BVHS reaches every corner of the region. “Everyone in the community has relied on BVHS at some point in time. It's essential that we continue to support their mission to be a world-class healthcare provider.”
Werk-Brau hopes to inspire others to invest in community health and the future of local medicine. “If we want exceptional health care locally, we need to do whatever we can to support it,” they said. “Werk-Brau and its dedicated team members are proud to be a part of this community and are pleased to have had an opportunity to help the primary healthcare provider in the region improve its capabilities and services.”
The generosity of community partners like Werk-Brau ensures BVHS can continue providing quality, compassionate care for every patient who walks through its doors.
